FREE YOGA CLASS FOR MEN
 
This FREE yoga class is an introduction into the benefits and practices of yoga, for men.
A chance to try something new while exploring healthy ways in which to relax and de-stress, while doing something positive for your mind, body and soul.

Combat Kickboxing

A moderate practice designed to enhance strength, increase flexibility and promote stability.
Using breath and motion as a guide, increased awareness, focus and concentration follow. The result is mental relaxation and calm.
Class begins with a gentle warm up, progresses through varying postures and movements, and will finish with a period of calm relaxation.
Classes will be conducted in a comfortable environment, accompanied by quiet relaxing music, soft lighting and warm temperatures.
 
What to bring: Yoga Mat, Water Bottle, Comfortable Clothes (extra yoga mats will be available should you not have your own)
 
Deciding to start a new exercise program may cause a little anxiety or stress. If concerned, either consult your family doctor or let me know your concerns and we can discuss the program in more detail.

30 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. Airborne Combat Engineer Diver with French Commando course. Throughout it all - physical fitness, staying active and trying to remain injury free were front and center. Upon retirement, realization that I needed something to replace the activity level I maintained in uniform was immediate. Without the 6 AM runs, rucksack marches and general military lifestyle … my mobility, strength, physical fitness and mental state quickly declined.
I began to run, bike, canoe and play soccer, but despite this increased activity level, I started suffering injuries and depression. My Dr. recommended Yoga to integrate the calm, breathing and stretching in brought to balance with the physical fitness routine I was maintaining. Great advice and the addition brought balance and results.
Since the addition of Yoga, the weight has dropped, run times got faster, and injuries subsided. I am more knowledgeable, understanding and patient. I still have lapses as life gets busy, but when I return to base… things normalize again.
